About & Services

PINKOS is a multidisciplinary studio based in Prague, operating at the intersection of naval architecture, yacht design, and visual direction.

Founded by naval architect and designer Matej Pinkos, the studio draws on experience gained at world-renowned naval architecture offices. Matej has worked on large yacht projects in England and led technical work on icebreakers in Finland, bringing together deep engineering knowledge and a refined design sensibility.

Raised in Slovakia and educated in Naval Architecture with High Performance Marine Vehicles at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, Matej’s work is shaped by a dialogue between structure and expression. His design language is informed by the structural honesty of Central European brutalism and the clarity of Nordic architectural traditions.

Through yacht design and visual storytelling, PINKOS translates complex naval concepts into clear, evocative forms; grounded, contemporary, and timeless.

Precision meets emotion. Engineering becomes art.

PINKOS works with naval architecture offices, shipyards, maritime brands and private clients to translate complex technical ideas into clear, evocative visual narratives. From high-end yacht concepts to spatial renders and creative direction, the studio helps clients communicate with confidence; to investors, stakeholders, and future owners.

Based in Central Europe and working internationally, PINKOS is building a multidisciplinary creative network that values diversity, collaboration, and long-term relevance.

The ambition is simple: to design vessels, spaces, and future objects that endure — technically, visually, and culturally.

Approaching at the right angle

Boats create ripples at a characteristic angle of approximately 19.5 degrees from their path, forming a V-shaped wake pattern known as the Kelvin wake pattern. This angle is consistent regardless of the size or speed of the boat, as long as the water is deep enough.
